The last Emperor of the Islands was <a href="?title=fall of empire">Varren Salema</a>, since that time no one person has ruled over all the Islands. </p><p> No-one since his sons the Princes Erin & Kaska have dared called themself Emperor, in part because no-one dared presume upon the hand of fate, in fear of calling upon themselves the evil eye. But also because the last Regent, Kamedden, foretold that there would never be another Emperor.
